15 NDRF teams deployed in Maharashtra in view of heavy rain prediction 

Fifteen National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been positioned in varied components of Maharashtra in view of the prediction of heavy rains in sure components of the state, the drive chief stated on Thursday.

Four teams have been based mostly in Ratnagiri, two every in Mumbai, Sindhudurg, Palghar, Raigad, Thane and one in Kurla (east Mumbai suburb), NDRF Director General S N Pradhan stated in a tweet.

He stated the teams are being pre-deployed or positioned at these places on the request of the state authorities that acted in response to the prediction of heavy rains made by the India Metrological Department (IMD).

An NDRF crew often has 47 personnel and they’re outfitted with inflatable boats, wooden and pole cutters and fundamental first support kits to rescue rains and floods affected victims and launch reduction operations.

Heavy rains lashed Mumbai and its suburbs on Wednesday, inflicting flooding on roads and rail tracks and disrupting suburban practice providers because the south-west monsoon arrived in the town.
