JD(S) chief H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday stated the 2028 ballot might be his final Assembly election, however he would stay lively in politics thereafter too and would contest different elections.

The clarification from the previous Karnataka Chief Minister got here amid some reviews quoting him as saying that the upcoming 2023 Assembly polls can be his final.
“What I’ve stated is 2028 might be my final election to the Assembly. It might be my final election to the Assembly, I’ve not stated that I can’t be in politics. I’ll stay in politics and face elections too,” Kumaraswamy said.
Speaking to reporters in Chikkamagaluru, he said, “we cannot remain all along, decisions have to be taken in accordance to the situation, hence have said what I had to.” JD(S) has already introduced the primary checklist of 93 candidates for Assembly polls, probably by April or May, and Kumaraswamy might be contesting from Channapatna this time.
Responding to a query, Kumaraswamy stated his father and JD(S) patriarch H D Deve Gowda will resolve relating to the ticket to the Hassan Assembly phase.
The ticket for the Hassan constituency has turned out to be a significant bone of rivalry, as his sister-in-law Bhavani Revanna, who had thrown her hat within the ring, has not relented, regardless of Kumaraswamy, making it clear that she won’t be fielded and has favoured a “loyal occasion employee” as the candidate from there.
