35 grams of ornaments recovered from thief’s stomach in Karnataka

In a weird incident at Sullia in Dakshina Kannada district, a person arrested in reference to a theft case was on Sunday discovered to have swallowed gold ornaments he had allegedly stolen from jewelry outlets. Police sources stated the accused developed extreme stomach ache and was taken to a hospital on Saturday.

During an X-ray scan, he was discovered to have the jewels in his gut and was admitted for commentary.

Today, the ornaments, largely rings and ear-studs weighing 35 gm, have been recovered by means of a surgical process, the sources stated.

The accused, recognized as Shibu, admitted that he swallowed the ornaments together with ice-cream to cover them from the police.

The accused was discharged and later despatched to judicial custody, the sources stated.
