Forty folks, together with a number of kids, have been injured on Friday when a footbridge collapsed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, officers mentioned.
The incident passed off at Beni Sangam in the Bain village of Chenani block during Baisakhi celebrations, they mentioned.
People in massive numbers have been on the bridge when it collapsed, the officers mentioned.
The bridge collapsed resulting from overloading as massive variety of folks have been on it on the time of the accident, Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar instructed PTI.
There is not any causality, he added. Police and reduction groups rushed to the spot and started rescue operations, the officers mentioned.
The injured have been admitted to Chenani hospital, they mentioned. Four of the injured are being taken to District Hospital Udhampur, the officers added.
