New Delhi: In excellent news for crores of central authorities staff and pensioners, the Union Cabinet has lastly authorised the restoration of dearness allowance (DA) and dearness reduction (DR) that will be efficient from July. This signifies that the elevated DA and DR of staff and pensioners will come with July’s wage or pension, respectively. 

In June’s wage or pension, staff and pensioners had obtained DA or DA at 17 per cent of their primary wage. However, from July’s wage onwards, staff will obtain 28 per cent of their primary wage as DA. This signifies that staff will get a hike equal to 11 per cent of their primary wage. 

How to calculate DA hike? 

The dearness allowance hike that has been restored by the federal government features a 4 per cent rise in January 2020, a 3 per cent increment in June 2020 and a 4 per cent rise in January 2021. 

In complete, staff and pensioners are getting an 11 per cent hike that will improve the dearness allowance contribution from 17% to 28%. For calculating the hike in a wage, one has to calculate the 11% of their primary pay. 

For instance, in the event you earn Rs 20,000 primary wage monthly, then 11% of your primary wage will be Rs 2200, which will be the DA hike you’ll be getting from July’s wage onwards. Will DA improve additional? 

As of now, the federal government has not up to date its staff and pensioners on whether or not it’ll be giving a dearness allowance hike which is pending for June 2021.
