8 Aircraft Routes Launched To Strengthen Aerial Connectivity Between MP, Maharashtra & Gujarat

New Delhi: Eight new aerial plane routes aimed toward strengthening the connection between Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat had been inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. 

The Union aviation minister congratulated the residents of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat over the start of latest airline operations.

“Besides, extra flights between the Delhi-Jabalpur route will even begin from July 18 onwards, and Khajuraho-Delhi-Khajuraho flights from October 2021 onwards. We are dedicated to bolster regional air connectivity and take the Prime Minister’s imaginative and prescient of Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) to larger heights”, he added at the flag-off ceremony, as reported by Business Today

 Gwalior-Mumbai, Gwalior-Pune, Jabalpur-Surat, and Ahmedabad-Gwalior are the eight new aerial aircraft routes. SpiceJet is anticipated to begin service on these soon. 

The start of these routes meets the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s goal of improving regional connectivity between Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and the country’s metros. Jabalpur is now linked to Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune via non-UDAN flights, as well as to Bilaspur via UDAN lines, following the flag-off. While Gwalior is currently well connected via UDAN routes to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Jammu, it is also well connected via non-UDAN routes to Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad. 

According to a government press release, the opening of these lines fulfills the goal of the “Sab Uden Sab Juden” mission underneath the UDAN scheme. 

Indigo Airlines launched a brand new service connecting Kolkata and Imphal with Dibrugarh, Assam, as a part of the UDAN scheme earlier this month.
