New Delhi: An encounter broke out between safety forces and terrorists in Pampore space of Awantipora, Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning. As per the early inputs, a terrorist has been killed by the safety forces through the encounter. Jammu and Kashmir Police has knowledgeable that the safety forces have presently cordoned off the complete space because the encounter continues to be happening.
The encounter began in wee hours of Friday at Khrew, Pampore space of Awantipora.”#Encounter has started at Khrew, #Pampore area of #Awantipora. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police had tweeted.
The safety forces launched a cordon and search operation at Khrew in Pampore space of Awantipora following details about presence of militants there, the officers mentioned.
They mentioned the search operation was an encounter after the ultras opened hearth in the direction of safety forces’ positions, which was retaliated. There have been no casualties reported up to now within the operation on both aspect, the officers mentioned.
The police have not revealed the id of the terrorist killed and which terrorist group he was related to. According to media experiences, Police officers mentioned that they acquired inputsof some terrorists hiding in Pampore space. When the troopers went to conduct a search operation within the space, the terrorists opened hearth on them. In retaliation, when the safety forces opened hearth, one terrorist was neutralised.
This is the third such incident inside the final 15 days. The incident has come a day after terrorists shot useless their celebration chief Ghulam Hasan yesterday in Kulgam. Ghulam Hasan had joined his celebration 4 months in the past by resigning from the PDP. BJP chief Javed Ahmed Dar was shot useless by terrorists in Brajlu Jagir space of Kulgam on August 17. Earlier on August 9, terrorists killed Ghulam Rasool Dar, president of the Kisan district unit of the BJP in Kulgam.
