Actor Nora Fatehi is at the moment being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate as a witness in a Rs. 200 crore cash laundering case. The accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar who’s being investigated for dishonest and extortion is being represented by lawyer Anant Malik. Malik has now claimed that Nora Fatehi obtained a luxury car from his shopper as a reward.
Sukesh Chandrasekhar, whereas being produced at a Delhi courtroom on Saturday advised the media that he has gifted a car to Nora Fatehi. He additionally advised the media, “Why don’t you ask her (Nora Fatehi) about it?”.
Earlier, in the court, Sukesh’s lawyer said, “Nora Fatehi claims to be a sufferer however she was gifted a BMW car. Apart from that Jacqueline and Sukesh have been courting, these are my directions… This is straight from the horse’s mouth. They are the final word beneficiaries, that’s the reason they’re being referred to as for questioning”.
The ED recorded Nora’s statement on October 14 during which investigators learned about the gift from Sukesh Chandrasekhar- an accused in the Rs. 200 crore extortion case. The ED suspects that the car gifted to Nora was bought with the money extorted by him.
Meanwhile, Nora has claimed that she is not a part of any money laundering activity. “Nora Fatehi has been the sufferer in the case and being a witness, she is co-working and serving to the officers in the investigation. We wish to make it very clear that she has not been a a part of any cash laundering exercise, she doesn’t know or have any private reference to the accused and has been referred to as by the ED to strictly assist with the investigation,” a assertion by Nora’s workforce learn.
Sukesh Chandrasekhar and his spouse Leena Paul have been arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly duping the household of Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Singh of round Rs. 200 crore. In August, the ED had raided a few of Sukesh’s premises and seized a sea-going through bungalow in Chennai, ₹82.5 lakh money and over a dozen luxury vehicles.
