Of the cancelled journeys, 1041 are from the coal-rich South East Central Railway (SECR), whereas 40 are from Northern Railways. On April 29, the federal government of India cancelled over 600 trains to fulfil the availability of coal. A complete of 533 coal rakes are placed on obligation. For the facility sector, 427 rakes have been loaded on April 28.
The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India stated that coal obtained from imports is being pushed to precedence sectors quickly, owing to extreme heatwave circumstances within the nation.
