‘People Have Been Fooled’: Karnataka Congress Leaders Attend Budget Session With Flowers Behind Ears – WATCH | India News


Bengaluru: In an uncommon protest in opposition to the ruling BJP, the Karnataka Congress leaders, together with Siddaramaiah, state president D Okay Shivakumar and all get together MLAs, on Friday attended the finances session sporting flowers behind their ears. In Kannada, sporting flowers behind one’s ears means betrayal and fooling. On seeing them, Chief Minister Bommai obtained upset and stated, “They are wearing flowers to the Assembly despite being asked to remove them. According to me it’s not correct. It`s their wish and I don`t want to comment on it,” he stated.

 

 

Taking a dig at Siddaramaiah, he stated, “All these days he was trying to put flowers on others` ears (fooling people). Now, the tables have turned. The people have kept flowers on his ears which will continue till the upcoming elections,” Chief Minister Bommai acknowledged.

At this, the BJP MLAS burst out in laughter and banged the desk as applause. Unwilling to relent, Siddaramaiah stood up saying that by this finances, CM Bommai is making an attempt to maintain flowers on the ears of seven crore folks of the state.

 

 

This assertion was opposed by BJP MLAs resulting in an uproar. They questioned how Siddaramaiah was allowed to talk. In his reply, the Congress chief requested whether or not the CM`s remarks, at first, had been a part of his finances speech.

“Was that a part of his speech? It is not correct. You (pointing to BJP legislators) don`t have any respect, or honour left. If you stand up together and shout, do you think we will get scared? Just take your seats. The BJP government is all set to put flowers on the ears of people of the state,” Siddaramaiah maintained.

Amid the chaos, Speaker Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri requested Siddaramaiah to permit CM Bommai to current his finances. Among the 600 assurances given by the ruling BJP no more than 50 had been fulfilled from the final finances, the Congress chief stated aloud.

Speaker Kageri once more requested him to permit CM Bommai to learn the finances. Siddaramaiah retaliated that they won’t permit him to current the finances. He went on to state that BJP is presenting a bundle of lies and so they run a manufacturing unit of lies. Later, the finances session resumed and CM Bommai began the presentation of the finances.
