Deepika, Neelam, Annu, and Sunlita Toppo all scored because the Indian group sealed an emphatic victory towards hosts South Africa
The Indian junior ladies’s hockey group ended its tour of South Africa undefeated with a 4-0 win over the ’A’ aspect of the host nation.
Deepika Sr. broke the impasse within the thirteenth minute by changing from the spot after South Africa conceded a penalty stroke.
A jiffy later, Neelam (fifteenth minute) doubled India’s lead by changing a penalty nook. Annu (thirty fifth) and Sunlita Toppo (fiftieth) scored within the second half to seal the victory late Saturday evening.
The South Africa tour was part of the group’s preparations for the U-21 Asia Cup, which serves as a qualifier for the upcoming FIH Junior Women’s World Cup.
The Indian group had earlier defeated the South African U-21 group in all three video games. The guests have been held to a 4-4 draw by South African ’A’ group of their final match on Friday.
