French prosecutors have opened a preliminary investigation right into a rape accusation against Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi

French prosecutors on Monday opened an investigation into alleged rape by Paris Saint-Germain full-back Achraf Hakimi, a supply near the case stated.

A 24-year-old girl has accused the Moroccan worldwide of raping her at his house in a Paris suburb on February 25.

According to the supply, confirming an article within the Parisien newspaper, the lady reported the incident at a police station on Sunday however didn’t file prices.

On stage to collect the award he stood alongside another award winner, his PSG teammate and close friend, Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe’s France may have ended Morocco’s World Cup adventure but Hakimi had spoken of their friendship before the competition: “We are two young men who have like the same things, we chat about music, video games, we go to restaurants,” he told the Parisien.

PSG officials did not respond to requests for comment, and Hakimi has not publicly responded to the accusation.

The Spain-born Hakimi appeared on stage at the FIFA Awards in Paris on Monday evening. He was honoured as part of the player-voted men’s World XI. He was greeted by brief, loud applause when the audience was asked to “Welcome Achraf Hakimi.”

Hakimi’s celebrations with his mother at the 2022 FIFA World Cup went viral on social media, garnering him a lot of praise.

Hakimi did not play in PSG’s victory over Marseille on Sunday because of thigh problems.

Born in Madrid, his penalty secured a 3-0 shoot-out win over Spain to steer Morocco into uncharted territory, with the north African side going on to become the first from the Arab world to reach the last four at a World Cup.
