Pune Bypoll Election Results 2023 Live Updates: Counting of votes for the byelections to Kasba and Chinchwad Assembly constituencies within the Pune district of Maharashtra began on Thursday (March 2, 2023). The counting began at 8 am for the bypolls that came about on February 26 for the 2 seats held by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The common voter turnout in each constituencies was 50 per cent. 

The elections are witnessing the BJP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena struggle in opposition to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Congress, and Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

The elections have been necessitated by the deaths of incumbent BJP MLAs Mukta Tilak (Kasba Peth) and Laxman Jagtap (Chinchwad). 

Pune Bypoll Election Results 2023: Main contenders in Kasba Peth

In the Kasba Peth constituency bypoll, Congress candidate Ravindra Dhangekar, who was backed by the MVA, has defeated BJP’s Hemant Rasane. 

Dhangekar received the seat by over 11,000 votes.

Pune Bypoll Election Results 2023: Main contenders in Chinchwad

In Chinchwad, the struggle is between BJP’s Ashwini Jagtap, NCP’s Vithal `Nana` Kate and impartial candidate Rahul Kalate. 

As per the out there tendencies, Jagtap has thus far bagged greater than 35,900 votes over her nearest rival Vithal `Nana` Kate who has secured 28,500 votes.

A Shiv Sena (UBT) insurgent candidate contesting as an impartial has obtained 11,500 votes.

In the Chinchwad meeting seat, counting is being performed on the Shankarao Gawade Kamgar Bhavan in Thergaon. 

There could be as many as 37 counting rounds for the Chinchwad seat.
