New Delhi: Customs officers found 4 gold bars value roughly Rs 2 crore within the toilet of a world flight at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday (March 5). Acting on a tip-off, customs officers searched the plane at Terminal 2 of the airport after its home journeys, reported ANI.

They discovered a gray pouch containing 4 rectangular gold bars weighing a complete of three,969 grams. The gold bars have a complete appraised worth of Rs 1,95,72,400. The customs officers seized the gold and its packaging below Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962, and are finishing up additional investigations.
In an identical case in Tamil Nadu, Customs officers detained, on February 25, a floor employees member of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for smuggling gold at Chennai Airport. The officers found 2.6 kilograms of gold, valued at round Rs 1.3 crore. The accused had hid the gold in paste type inside eight packets.
According to a press launch, the accused obtained the gold paste from a Sri Lankan passenger who arrived from Dubai. Metal detectors weren’t in a position to detect the gold because it was in paste type and the bag scanner additionally confirmed it as an opaque color, reported The News Minute.
