The Tiruchi International Airport has been rated the best airport in the Asia Pacific area, in the class of under two million passengers, for 2022, by the Airports Council International (ACI).
The Tiruchi Airport obtained this world recognition following an Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey that was carried out, measuring passenger satisfaction between January and December 2022 on the airport by the ACI, a world non-profit organisation of airport operators.
The ASQ survey is an internationally-established world benchmarking programme measuring passenger satisfaction at airports.
Terming it a second of delight for the Tiruchi International Airport, Airport Director P. Subramani stated the ASQ survey was carried out measuring passenger satisfaction throughout 32 key efficiency indicators that embody eight main classes comparable to: entry to terminal buildings, check-in processes, safety processes, airport amenities, meals and beverage, retail, the airport setting and arrival providers. The survey was carried out primarily based on the amenities being supplied to the passengers on the airport, he stated.
Speaking to reporters on the previous terminal constructing on Tuesday, Mr. Subramani stated Luis Felipe de Oliveira, Director General, ACI World, had “applauded the team at Tiruchi international airport on the achievement”.
“This is the result of outstanding teamwork by the entire airport community. Selected by passengers, the Airports Service Quality Awards recognise the best airports worldwide for customer experience”, Mr. Subramani stated studying out the message of the Director General, ACI.

Replying to a question on the progress in the development of the built-in passenger terminal constructing at Tiruchi airport, Mr. Subramani stated the work was continuing in full swing and the Airports Authority of India had focused the completion of the challenge earlier than September this 12 months.
To a question on the standing of the runway growth, Mr. Subramani stated the Tamil Nadu authorities had to supply 345 acres of land and one other 166 acres had been to be given by the Defence Department. Out of the 345 acres, 41 acres of land had already been handed over to the Airports Authority of India. Mr. Subramani stated he had met the District Revenue Officer, Tiruchi, relating to the land acquisition and stated he hoped that the remaining portion of land can be handed over by the Tamil Nadu authorities quickly.
