NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized Rs 53 lakh in money, 540 gram gold, gold jewelry weighing 1.5 kg and USD 1900 throughout raids on the premises of shut associates and household of former Railway minister Lalu Prasad within the land-for-job rip-off. According to an official of the probe company, the recoveries have been made on Friday from the residences of shut associates and members of the family of Lalu Prasad in reference to the rip-off.
Raids have been carried out at 15 areas together with at the Delhi homes of the RJD chief and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) lately grilled former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad within the matter. The ED case is on the idea of the CBI`s FIR.
In its case, the CBI had alleged that the accused in connivance with the then GM Central Railways and CPO, Central Railways engaged individuals as substitutes in lieu of land both of their title or within the title of shut kin of Lalu household.

What is the case?
The CBI registered a case towards Lalu Yadav, the then union railway minister, his spouse Rabri Devi, two daughters and 15 others, together with unknown public servants and personal individuals.
“During the period 2004-2009 Yadav had obtained pecuniary advantages in the form of transfer of landed property in the name of his family members in lieu of appointment of substitutes in Group “D” posts in different Zones of Railways,” the official mentioned.
A variety of residents of Patna themselves or by means of their members of the family bought and gifted their land in favour of the members of the family of Yadav and a non-public firm managed by Yadav and his household.

No commercial or any public discover was issued for such appointment of substitutes in Zonal Railways, but the appointees who have been residents of Patna have been appointed as Substitutes in several Zonal Railways situated at Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hazipur.
In continuation of this modus operandi, about 1,05,292 Sq. ft land, immovable properties located at Patna have been acquired by Yadav and his members of the family by means of 5 gross sales deeds and two present deeds, displaying the cost made to vendor in money in many of the land switch,” the CBI has mentioned.
