As many as 16 fishermen of Tamil Nadu, who had been fishing close to the Palk Strait, had been arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on Sunday.
According to the officers, the arrested fishermen had been taken by the Lankan Naval personnel to hand them over to authorities of their nation. Their two boats have additionally been seized and brought away, they added.
PMK founder chief S Ramadoss on his Twitter deal with condemned the fishermen’s arrest.
