Punjab: Internet services suspended amid reports of Amritpal Singh’s arrest

Amritpal Singh arrest information: Internet services in a number of elements of Punjab have been suspended until 12 pm tomorrow amid reports of arrest of self-styled radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh. 

Supporters of Amritpal Singh, Waris Punjab De chief, have been sharing movies of police autos chasing Singh’s cavalcade in Moga district. A video being shared on social media confirmed Amritpal Singh sitting in a car and one of his aides could possibly be heard saying policemen had been after ‘Bhai saab’ (Amritpal).

According to reports, at the least six associates of Amritpal Singh have been detained om police crackdown.Houses of Singh’s supporters have additionally been raided, reports mentioned. 

Last month, Amritpal and his supporters, some of them brandishing swords and weapons, broke by way of barricades and barged into the Ajnala Police Station on the outskirts of the Amritsar metropolis, and clashed with police for the discharge of one of Amritpal’s aide.
