Hindenburg Research on Thursday disclosed quick positions in Block Inc and alleged that the funds agency led by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey overstated its person numbers and understated its buyer acquisition prices.
Block vowed to battle again, saying it could discover authorized motion in opposition to the quick vendor for its “factually inaccurate and deceptive report” that was “designed to deceive and confuse investors”.
“Hindenburg is understood for a majority of these assaults, that are designed solely to permit quick sellers to revenue from a declined inventory value,” the funds agency mentioned, including that it could work with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The report comes at a time when the outlook for the payments industry has been clouded by worries over the strength of consumer spending in the face of elevated levels of inflation and expectations of an economic downturn.
