New Delhi: Top Congress leaders on Sunday (March 26, 2023) converged at Raj Ghat and started their ‘sankalp satyagraha’ to protest towards Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have been among the many leaders who gathered for a day-long satyagraha on the Raj Ghat, the memorial devoted to Mahatma Gandhi within the nationwide capital.

A senior police officer instructed the information company PTI that whereas permission for holding the satyagraha has been denied, sufficient safety preparations have been put in place.
The Congress has introduced plans to carry a day-long satyagraha in entrance of Gandhi statues in any respect states and district headquarters on Sunday to protest towards Gandhi’s disqualification.
The satyagraha started round 10 AM and is scheduled to finish at 5 PM.
Gandhi was disqualified from the Lok Sabha on Friday, a day after a courtroom in Gujarat’s Surat convicted him in a 2019 defamation case.
The disqualification will bar the 52-year-old politician, a four-time MP, from contesting polls for eight years except a better courtroom stays his conviction.
