Permission was denied for fireworks at the Anthimahakalankavu pageant at Chelakkara in Thrissur district. The fireworks show was scheduled within the early hours of Sunday.
The permission was denied after PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation) officers allegedly discovered that banned fireworks like ‘gundu’ and ‘Kuzhiminnal’ had been ready for the fireworks.
Earlier the police and income officers had given permission for the fireworks. Permission was given to make use of solely 15 kg of explosive supplies. It is alleged that many tonnes of explosives have been saved prepared for the show at Anthimahakalankavu.
The pageant organisers needed to cancel the fireworks whilst hundreds of individuals have been ready for the show, scheduled within the early hours of Sunday.
