The Balangir Police in Odisha arrested 19 persons over fake certificates utilized by candidates whereas making use of for Grameen Dak Sevak (GDS) jobs.

The scam surfaced when many candidates of GDS had been discovered to have scored 100% and 99% in their matriculation examinations. The police added that many college students had acquired fake and solid certificates from Mr. Mishra for getting admissions in faculties and employment in authorities and personal jobs.
The investigation discovered that the scam was not confined to Balangir, and that the fake certificates had been provided to bordering districts akin to Bargarh, Kalahandi, Boudh, Subarnapur and Dhenkanal, apart from different components of the nation.
“Mishra was running his network very cleverly. He had his contacts in different institutes. Whenever any employer tried to get the marksheets [certificates] verified, his contacts in those institutes had come to his rescue,” mentioned the SP.
In Odisha, 5 candidates of the GDS had claimed to have secured an ideal 100% and 4 others above 99%, in their matriculation examination. Similarly, 31 candidates in Jharkhand had mentioned they scored 100%. In Bihar, the variety of candidates who had claimed to have secured 100% in Class X examination was greater than 100. Invariably, each State had some shortlisted candidates who had scored 100% in their examination.
The Balangir Police suspect that many individuals who had used these fake certificates had been already in totally different jobs.
