SCO-National Security Advisors meet in Delhi today; Pakistan, China likely to join

India is all set to chair a gathering of the National Security Advisors (NSA) in New Delhi immediately (March 29) with Pakistan and China likely to attend the assembly in the backdrop of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). National Security Adviser Ajit Doval will make opening remarks on the assembly.The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an intergovernmental group established in 2001 and it includes eight member states, particularly, India, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.In 2022, India assumed the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Chairship for 2023.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev, will attend the annual assembly of the secretaries of safety councils of SCO member states in New Delhi on Wednesday, in accordance to a press release by Russian Security Council, a Russian embassy official confirmed to ANI. India grew to become a full member of SCO on June 9 in 2017. There are 4 Observer States viz Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia and 6 dialogue companions – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Turkey.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Evgenyvich Ilyichev, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Economic Development, Russia, Muminzod Kamoliddin, Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee, Tajikistan and Aun Chaudhry, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Tourism and Sports, Pakistan, nearly participated in the SCO assembly held in Kashi earlier this month, in accordance to Tourism Ministry’s press launch. While the SCO summit is about to happen in Goa this summer time, India is holding a number of occasions main up to it. Notably, the subsequent necessary SCO assembly would be the defence ministers’ assembly scheduled to be held in Delhi from April 27-29.
