Ahead of the Rajasthan meeting elections, the Congress authorities within the state has elevated the honorarium of Anganwadi staff by 15 per cent. Announcing this on Twitter, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stated that the state authorities has determined to extend the state share of honorarium by 15 per cent. This will profit lakhs of Anganwadi staff.

‘In the state, the Integrated Child Development Services Department (ICDS) has authorized the proposal to extend the state share of honorarium given to the honorarium staff working in Anganwadi centres and baby care houses by 15 per cent,” stated Gehlot.

CM Gehlot additional stated that Anganwadi staff, mini Anganwadi staff, helpers and crèche staff will profit from the choice. “The honorarium of workers working at Anganwadi centres of ICDS department – Anganwadi workers, mini Anganwadi workers, helpers and crèche workers has been increased by 15 per cent. At present, the honorarium to these personnel is being paid by the Central and State Governments in the ratio of 60:40. This increase will be 15 per cent of the total honorarium being given by the state government to these personnel,” added Gehlot.

The chief minister knowledgeable that the hike in honorarium will put a monetary burden of Rs 70 crore on the state authorities yearly. “It is noteworthy that in the budget year 2023-24, an announcement was made for the increase in honorarium,” stated Gehlot.

According to experiences, Rajasthan Anganwadi staff get Rs 7,800 honorarium per 30 days whereas mini Anganwadi staff get Rs 5,975 per 30 days, helpers or sahayikas get Rs 4,450 per 30 days whereas sathini or companion is given Rs 3,850 per 30 days. Asha Sahyogini or Asha staff get Rs 2970 per 30 days whereas creche staff get Rs 3,000 per 30 days.
