An under-construction bridge in Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur district collapsed, officers mentioned on Friday.
However, there have been no studies of accidents as the development employees weren’t current on the website when the bridge collapsed on Thursday evening, they mentioned.
The building employees had laid three slabs of the bridge on the Kot-Jahoo Road. The bridge ostensibly collapsed a couple of hours after the shuttering of one of many slabs was eliminated, the officers added.
The 75-metre-long bridge is being constructed at a value of ₹2,423 crore.
Public Works division assistant engineer Anil Kumar mentioned technical deficiencies had been found throughout inspection of the bridge by senior officers and the contractor was directed to rectify these.
Vijay Chowdhary, the division’s superintending engineer in the district, mentioned a report had been sought from the chief engineer and added that he would go to the spot once more.
The work was allotted in 2020 and building started in 2021. The authorities has already paid 35 per cent of the overall price to the contractor.
