Indore temple tragedy: Drive launched to remove encroachments from religious complex, idols shifted

Four days after the stepwell roof collapse at a temple in Indore claimed 36 lives, the native administration on Monday morning launched a drive to remove encroachments from the religious complicated and moved the idols of deities to one other shrine.

The operation was launched on the Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal temple complicated in Patel Nagar space, Indore, in Madhya Pradesh within the presence of heavy police safety and barricades have been positioned on roads main to the temple, officers mentioned.

They mentioned motion was being taken to remove encroachments from about 10,000 sq. toes of land across the temple premises.

Meanwhile, a temple priest current on the spot mentioned prayers have been supplied to idols on the temple in accordance to rituals they usually have been shifted to Kantafod temple.

After the tragedy final Thursday, an FIR was lodged in opposition to Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple Trust president Sevaram Galani and secretary Murli Kumar Sabnani underneath Indian Penal Code Section 304 (culpable murder not amounting to homicide), Juni Indore police station in-charge Neeraj Meda mentioned.

The two accused are going through expenses that that they had obtained an unsafe building work accomplished by placing a roof over the stepwell, due to which 36 individuals misplaced their lives, the official mentioned.

“The Indore Municipal Corporation had ordered the trust to remove the illegal construction at the temple complex, but the trust did not obey the order,” he mentioned.
