In a tragic incident, 4 individuals died on Tuesday after inhaling poisonous gas whereas laying pipes in a septic tank in Bahadurgarh in Haryana’s Jhajjar district.

According to police, two of the dead had been migrant labourers who had been working on the septic tank. The incident occurred in Jakhoda village when a mason and a few labourers had been repairing the tank.

“When the mason fell unconscious, another person went inside to check on him, but did not come out. Two labourers — one from UP and another from MP — who tried to help also fell unconscious,” Jasvir, SHO of Aasoda police station in Bahadurgarh, stated over the telephone.

All 4 died due to suffocation after inhaling poisonous gas, he added.

Despite tips, security measures are ignored throughout the septic tank work ensuing in the deadly incident. Nowadays, such incidents seem from time to time. 

Sanitation employee, contractor die after inhaling poisonous gas

Just 15 days in the past on March 21, a sanitation employee and a contractor of the civic physique in Gujarat’s Rajkot died due to asphyxiation whereas cleansing an underground drainage line. 

Mehul Mehda (24), a sanitation employee, entered the underground sewer in Samrat industrial space and fainted after inhaling poisonous gases.  The contractor Afzal Kukur (42), who was current on the spot, instantly entered the sewer to rescue Mehda, however he too fell unconscious.  The duo had been taken out with the assistance of the fireplace brigade and shifted to the civil hospital, the place the medical doctors declared them dead.

The sanitation employee was finishing up routine cleansing work of the sewer when he and the contractor died due to asphyxiation.

The civic physique will probe into the incident, Rajkot Municipal Corporation metropolis engineer H M Kotak stated.
