It was an unbelievable evening for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as they opened their account in IPL 2023 with a dominant win vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The Eden Gardens witnessed the house staff’s first victory of the season within the presence of KKR house owners Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. The win was candy however even sweeter was the efficiency of KKR’s younger brigade – Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Shardul Thakur, Rinku Singh and Suyash Sharma. Gurbaz struck a gritty 57 opening the innings whereas Rinku (46 off 33), Thakur (68 off 29) powered KKR to 204 for 7 after they had been 89 for five at one stage whereas batting first. It was a confidence-boosting innings from Thakur who had a factor or two to show as a T20 all-rounder.
The limelight was shared by one other younger participant named Suyash Sharma, who picked up three essential wickets for KKR. He got here in as KKR’s Impact Player on this match and shone vibrant with 3 wickets. He dismised Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat and Karn Sharma to complete with figures of three for 30 from his 4 overs.Â
Who is KKR’s Suyash Sharma?
Suyash, 19, comes from Delhi and has not performed any first-class match. He was purchased by KKR on the IPL 2023 mini-auction for a sum of Rs 20 lakh and he’s proving to be a steal deal for the Kolkata-based franchise. While he has not performed home cricket for India but, Suyash has represented Delhi in U-25 tournaments. Suyash was noticed by KKR’s scouting staff and the franchise’s CEO Venky Mysore was comfortable that he bought him on the public sale.Â

Born on May 15, 2003, Suyash took up cricket after getting impressed by his brother, as per RevSportz. He began his profession as a batter however quickly fell in love with leg-spin bowling.Â
Varun Chakaravarthy is again
