As the Union Government has handpicked the V. O. Chidambaranar Port as its nodal company for putting in offshore windmills alongside the southern Tamil Nadu coast for producing 30,000 MW inexperienced energy, the Port has deliberate to generate a minimum of 2,000 MW energy from these revolutionary windmills within a year within the first section.
Speaking to reporters in Thoothukudi on Friday, Chairman of the Port T. Okay. The Port, having created amenities for operation of the Thoothukudi – Colombo – Maldives – Kochi – Thoothukudi passenger ship, was holding talks with two personal corporations for working the ships to promote tourism and enterprise. After getting the Union Government’s nod, these corporations had been now negotiating with the Sri Lankan authorities and therefore the service would possibly begin within subsequent 3 months, the chairman knowledgeable.
