BJP’s OBC face in Karnataka K S Eshwarappa retires from poll fray


Shivamogga MLA and former minister K.S. Eshwarappa has served as president of the Karnataka BJP unit. He has dealt with distinguished ministerial portfolios, together with energy, main irrigation, rural growth & panchayat raj.

BJP veteran and former deputy chief minister of Karnataka K. S. Eshwarappa has introduced retirement from electoral politics. His announcement has come simply forward of the discharge of the primary listing of candidates by the BJP.

On April 3, Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty introduced retirement from electoral politics.

According to sources, Mr. Eshwarappa was in a dilemma about persevering with in electoral politics after he needed to step down as minister following the suspicious demise of a contractor who had accused the BJP veteran of demanding a fee to clear his payments. Sources near him say that he was harm at not being taken again into the ministry regardless of getting a clear chit from the police. Though he had mentioned the opportunity of retirement with the get together’s nationwide leaders a couple of months in the past, he was reportedly instructed him to attend for some extra time.

On April 3, BJP MLC Ayanur Manjunath had raised a banner of revolt by asserting his determination to give up as MLC as a part of a bid to contest in opposition to Mr. Eshwarappa from Shivamogga if he was not given the ticket by the get together.

Mr. Eshwarappa, whose roots are in the Sangh Parivar, has been the BJP’s OBC face. He has contributed to strengthening of the get together organisation in Karnataka. Among different issues, he has served as president of the Karnataka unit. He has dealt with distinguished portfolios, together with energy, main irrigation, rural growth & panchayat raj.
