New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched the e-version of Swami Chidbhavanandaji’s Bhagavad Gita via video conferencing.

While talking on the event, PM Modi mentioned, “The Bhagavad Gita makes us suppose. It inspires us to query. It encourages debate and retains our minds open. Anybody who’s impressed by Gita will at all times be compassionate by nature and democratic in temperament.’’

The occasion has been organised to commemorate the sale of over 5 lakh copies of the Swami Chidbhavanandaji`s Bhagavad Gita. Swami Chidbhavanandaji is the founding father of Sri Ramakrishna Tapovanam Ashram at Thirupparaithurai, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu.

Swamiji has authored 186 books and all genres of literary composition. His scholarly work on the Gita is among the most intensive books on the topic.

Tamil model of the Gita together with his commentaries was revealed in 1951, adopted by the English in 1965. Its translations into Telugu, Oriya, German and Japanese had been undertaken by devotees.
