Weather Updates: Eastern India will witness searing conditions for one or two more days as heatwaves will prevail in these areas. The Met Office on Wednesday knowledgeable that the Eastern Indian states like Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha are possible to be hit by the warmth wave. 

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an ‘orange alert’ warning of extreme heatwave conditions, in the following two days in Motihari, Sitamarhi, Begusarai, Khagaria and Banka districts of Bihar. The climate workplace forecasted heatwave conditions to continue to prevail in remoted pockets of Bihar on Thursday.

Bihar CM requested to make preparations amid heatwave conditions 

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday directed officers of all districts to make elaborate preparations amid the prevailing heatwave conditions in the state. 

Heatwave conditions in West Bengal 

Severe heatwave conditions are possible to continue over Bankura, Purulia, Paschim Bardhaman, Jhargram and Birbhum districts in the southern half of West Bengal until Thursday and heatwave conditions in these locations on Friday. 

39 to 44 levels C temp in Jharkhand 

Heat wave conditions continued unabated in main parts of Jharkhand with the mercury hovering between 39 levels Celsius and 44 levels C.

Light rainfall in Odisha’s Nawarangpur 

In Odisha, an analogous situation prevailed at one or two locations in the districts of Cuttack, Khurda and Mayurbhanj. Light rainfall, nevertheless, has occurred at one place over Nawarangpur district, the Met workplace mentioned.

Tripura govt recognized heatwave, sunstroke and sunburn as disasters

The Tripura authorities has recognized heatwave, sunstroke and sunburn as disasters, amid scorching warmth in most parts of the northeastern state, an official notification mentioned.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall in these areas 

The Met division forecast heavy to very heavy rain in remoted locations of Arunachal Pradesh until Saturday and in Assam and Meghalaya on Friday and Saturday.
