New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has served a legal notice to the Enforcement Directorate asking it to concern a public apology within 48 hours, or else face civil and prison proceedings. The Rajya Sabha MP has despatched a legal notice to ED for allegedly making false and derogatory claims about him within the Delhi excise coverage case.
The notice addressed to Enforcement Directorate’s Director Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Additional Director Jogender, mentioned, “The officials have knowingly and intentionally made certain untrue, defamatory, and incriminating statements against Singh in the Delhi excise policy prosecution complaint.”
Attempt to tarnish AAP chief’s public picture
The legal notice acknowledged that the ED associates, brokers and staff have tried to tarnish and mutilate the AAP chief’s public picture and have tried to in any other case popularise a perverse, false, motivated, wild, malicious and baseless marketing campaign in opposition to his alleged involvement in Delhi Excise Policy.

Public apology within 48 hours
The notice calls upon the ED to instantly concern an open and public apology within 48 hours of receipt of the notice, for the psychological agony and harassment confronted by the MP. “Please note that ED is severely liable for such misdeed done with malicious intent. If you fail to comply with the above within 48 hours of the date of receipt of this notice, I have instructions to initiate appropriate civil and criminal proceedings against you before the competent court, and in that event, you shall be fully responsible for the same and related cost and consequences,” the AAP assertion quoted Singh’s lawyer Maninderjit Singh Bedi as stating within the legal notice.
“The alleged assertion of Dinesh Arora as recorded by the ED has been mischaracterized and misquoted by the ED within the grievance for ulterior functions,” Bedi charged within the notice.
The ED has “intentionally” added Singh’s identify with none foundation with the mala-fide intent to trigger disrepute to him. Towards this finish, the ED has additional circulated and triggered to be revealed the grievance and particularly the portion pertaining to my consumer, Bedi added.
‘Will not tolerate this type of character assassination’
