Fugitive radical preacher Amritpal Singh who has been booked below National Security Act has been arrested from Punjab’s Moga, police mentioned on April 23. Amritpal’s arrest comes a month after the police launched a large crackdown towards him and his outfit ‘Waris Punjab De’.
According to PTI police additional mentioned he would be sent to Assam’s Dibrugarh jail .“He is an NSA subject and will be taken to Dibrugarh,” the officer informed PTI.
On March 18 the Punjab Police arrested 78 individuals and launched a hunt for Amritpal in reference to a number of legal circumstances. Another shut support of the pro-Khalistani chief, Papalpreet Singh was arrested on April 10, in an operation performed by Punjab Police and its counter-intelligence unit.
Only three days in the past, Amritpal’s spouse Kirandeep Kaur had been restricted from boarding a flight from Amritsar to U.Ok.
The police had been following Amritpal’s path throughout States as CCTV footage of the fugitive fleeing on motorbike emerged. According to police, Amritpal escaped within the afternoon of March 18 on the Shahkot-Malsian Road in Jalandhar, switched to one other automotive and went to a “gurdwara” the place he stayed for about 45 minutes, throughout which he modified his garments, after which drove away on the motorbike that was later seized.
