New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a bilateral assembly with Russian counterpart Sergei Ok Shoigu on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers’ assembly in New Delhi on Friday (April 28).

SCO assembly 

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an intergovernmental group that was based in Shanghai on June 15, 2001. The principal targets of the SCO are to strengthen mutual belief and good neighbourliness amongst member states and promote their efficient cooperation in political, commerce, financial, and different areas.

SCO has eight member states which embrace China, Russia, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
