14 Apps Reportedly Used In Jammu and Kashmir For Spreading Terror Banned By Govt


New Delhi: The central authorities has blocked 14 messenger cell purposes that had been largely utilized in Jammu and Kashmir for spreading terror, sources mentioned.

According to sources, these cell purposes had been utilized by terrorists in Kashmir to speak with their supporters and on-ground staff (OGW).

“Agencies keep track of channels used by Overground workers (OGWs) and terrorists to communicate among themselves. While tracking down one of the communication, agencies found that the mobile application does not have representatives in India and it is difficult to track down activities happening on the app,” mentioned an official.

(*14*), with the assistance of different intelligence companies working within the valley, an inventory of such apps was ready that pose a menace to nationwide safety and don’t comply with Indian legal guidelines. 

After getting the listing ready, the involved Ministry was knowledgeable of the request to ban these cell purposes. These apps have been blocked beneath Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the official added.

In official communications to higher-ups, the intelligence companies knowledgeable that these apps are spreading terror propaganda within the Valley.

Sources mentioned these apps embrace Crypviser, Enigma, Safeswiss, Wickrme, Mediafire, Briar, BChat, Nandbox, Conion, IMO, Element, Second line, Zangi, Threema amongst others.
