Kedarnath Yatra replace: The Kedarnath Yatra in Uttarakhand has been halted for today (May 3) within the wake of incessant snowfall, officers stated on Tuesday (May 2). Kedarnath Dham is likely one of the Char Dhams within the state. An orange alert has additionally been issued within the area. The registration of pilgrims for Kedarnath has additionally been suspended until May 3, 2023, the district administration stated. 

“Due to bad weather and snowfall in Kedarnath, the registration of pilgrims for Kedarnath has been stopped till tomorrow May 3. The decision regarding registration will be taken keeping in view the weather conditions,” Mayur Dixit, Rudraprayag District Magistrate (DM) stated.

Meanwhile, the registrations are being carried out solely for Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham on the passenger registration centre situated in Rishikesh, the District Magistrate added.

On Monday (May 1), the Meteorological Department issued an alert of rain and snowfall within the excessive Himalayan areas for the following 2-3 days. Rudraprayag District Magistrate Mayur Dixit stated that an enchantment has been made for the protection of the pilgrims coming to go to Kedarnath Dham.

Weather updates:

The pilgrims have been requested to attend in Gaurikund and Sonprayag until the weather improves they usually can resume their journey, he stated. Pilgrims visiting Kedarnath and different Himalayan temples in Uttarakhand have been suggested to take precautions as unhealthy weather endured within the area on Tuesday, officers stated.

Uttarakhand DGP on Kedarnath Yatra:
