Stalin unveils foundation stone for Mitsubishi’s ₹1,891 project in Tiruvallur district

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Okay. Stalin on Tuesday unveiled the foundation stone for Mitsubishi Electric India’s manufacturing facility in Tiruvallur district, which might manufacture air-conditioners and compressors. Mitsubishi would make investments ₹1,891 crore into this project, which is predicted to generate employment for over 2,000 individuals.

An MoU for the project was signed between the Tamil Nadu authorities and Mitsubishi Electric, in the presence of Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu, Consul General of Japan in Chennai Masayuki Taga, senior officers of the Tamil Nadu authorities and representatives from Mitsubishi.

The manufacturing facility can be unfold over 52 acres at Peruvoyal in Gummidipoondi taluk and is predicted to begin manufacturing in October 2025. The unit goals to fabricate 3 lakh air conditioners and 6.5 lakh compressors, an official launch from Mitsubishi Electric mentioned.

During his speech, Mr. Stalin mentioned Tamil Nadu has been in the forefront to welcome recent industrial investments into the State and additional mentioned TN was shifting forward to grasp its goal of achieveing a 1 trillion USD economic system by 2030.
