New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the newly-constructed Parliament constructing on May 28. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met Modi on Thursday and prolonged an invite to inaugurate the brand new constructing, the Lok Sabha Secretariat stated. The Congress took a swipe on the prime minister over the brand new Parliament constructing, calling it a “personal vanity project”. Congress common secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on Twitter an image of Modi whereas inspecting the development of the constructing and stated, “The sole architect, designer and worker for the new Parliament building, which he will inaugurate on May 28th.”
“The picture tells it all – personal vanity project,” Ramesh tweeted together with the image. The present constructing served as unbiased India’s first Parliament and witnessed the adoption of the Constitution.

Originally referred to as the Council House, the constructing housed the Imperial Legislative Council.
