Gujarat revises night curfew timings in four major cities

To include the surge in COVID-19 instances, the Gujarat authorities on Tuesday determined to extend the night curfew timings in four major cities of the


state by two hours. The curfew will now stay in power in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot from 10 pm to six am, an official assertion stated. The curfew timings earlier had been from 12 am to six am. The determination was taken on Tuesday in the core committee assembly of the coronavirus task-force headed by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

“The state government has decided to impose a curfew from 10 pm to 6 am in view of the increasing cases of coronavirus,” the federal government stated in the assertion. The restrictions shall be in place until March 31, it added.

The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) on Monday stated the following three T20 matches between India and England shall be performed with none spectators on the Narendra Modi Stadium in view of rising instances of coronavirus.

On Monday, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation additionally requested eateries, eating places and malls in eight wards of the town to shut down at 10 pm.

Gujarat on Monday reported 890 new instances of COVID-19, taking its tally to 2,79,097.

Last month, the state was reporting round 200 new instances daily.

Surat has been reporting the best variety of COVID-19 instances in the state, adopted by Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot, as per official knowledge.
