French carmaker Renault India rolled out the ten,00,000th automotive from its Oragadam unit on Tuesday.

Renault India had crossed the one-million mark in automotive production and hoped to realize an identical milestone in gross sales quickly, stated a high official.

“We crossed the key milestone on Tuesday,” CEO & MD Venkatram Mamillapalle stated throughout a media interplay. “We are heading towards one million customers in India.”

As a part of India technique, Renault-Nissan dedicated to take a position ₹5,300 crore in Tamil Nadu to introduce six vehiclesfrom 2025 onwards.

“The work has started very aggressively. We continue to be on target on time. Our dealer network is growing stronger and are trying to improve it at pan India level,” he stated.

On Wednesday, the French carmaker stated it will be entering into EV section with aggressive positioning and roll out greater vehicles in ‘C’ section (above 4 metre) from 2025. Currently, Renault presents three passenger vehicles in ‘A’ and ‘B’ segments – Kwid, Kiger and Triber.

“Our growth pattern has been good. We have not been making profit for a long time and that’s a key a concern. But with new products coming on board, we will turnaround drastically as we enter ‘C’ segment,” he stated.

The Oragadam plant of Renault-Nissan has a complete production capability of 4.80 lakh units each year. Renault-Nissan utilised about 50% of it.

During CY22, the carmaker bought 84,000 units in the home market and exported 28,000 units. It expects to keep up the identical numbers for CY23.

Mr. Venkatram stated he was hopeful that home passenger-vehicle gross sales would contact 4-million throughout the calendar 12 months as semiconductor chip scarcity subject has eased.

To a query, he stated they aren’t going to exchange the present inner combustion engine mannequin vehicles with EVs because it was not an excellent answer.
