The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has chosen State Bank of India Managing Director Swaminathan Janakiraman for the publish of Deputy Governor within the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Mr. Janakiraman’s appointment was notified by the Department of Personnel and Training on Tuesday. He would have a tenure of three years from the date of becoming a member of, or till additional orders, whichever is earlier.
He will change Deputy Governor M.Okay. Jain whose tenure will finish this month. Mr. Jain, the previous chief of IDBI Bank and Indian Bank, was appointed to the vital RBI position in 2018.
