The United States is contemplating new restrictions on exports of synthetic intelligence chips to China, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing folks conversant in the matter.

Nvidia, Micron, and AMD are among the many U.S. chipmakers caught within the crossfire between China and the Biden administration.
In September, Nvidia had mentioned that U.S. officers requested the corporate to cease exporting two prime computing chips for synthetic intelligence work to China.
The Commerce Department will cease the shipments of chips made by Nvidia and different chip corporations to prospects in China as early as July, the report mentioned.
The Department of Commerce didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.
The new curbs being mulled by the division would ban the sale of even A800 chips with no license, the report added.
