New Delhi: In an obvious reference to Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday quipped that the prime ministerial face from the Opposition for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections shouldn’t be ‘and not using a spouse’. Speaking to reporters on the Patna airport earlier than leaving for Delhi, he additionally stated that staying on the PM’s residence and not using a spouse is ‘improper’.Â
“Whoever becomes the PM should not be without a wife. Staying at PM’s residence without a wife is wrong. This should be done away with,” Lalu informed the reporters.
The former Bihar chief minister additionally stated that he’ll journey to Bengaluru for the assembly of the opposition events on July 17-18.

“I am going to Delhi for my routine medical examination, including blood tests. After that I will come back to Patna, and then go to Bengaluru for the meeting of the opposition parties, and also for preparing the ground for the ouster of the (Narendra) Modi government from the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls,” he stated.
Lalu exuded confidence that the Opposition alliance will win ‘not less than 300 seats’ within the upcoming General elections.
The second assembly of the ‘like-minded’ opposition events will likely be held in Bengaluru on July 17-18. The first assembly was held in Patna on June 23.
