The 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz, Anne L’Huillier “for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electro dynamics in matter”,  The Royal Swedish Academy of Science introduced on October 3, 2023.

Last 12 months, The Nobel Prize in physics was awarded to Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger for their work on quantum mechanics, the academy introduced the winners on October 4, 2022. The award was given for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities, and pioneering quantum data science..

The physics prize comes a day after Hungarian-American Katalin Karikó and American Drew Weissman received the Nobel Prize in drugs for discoveries that enabled the creation of mRNA vaccines towards COVID-19.

On October 4, Nobel Chemistry Prize will probably be introduced adopted by the Literature worth on October 5.

The Nobel Peace Prize will probably be introduced on Friday and the economics award on October 9.

The prizes carry a money award of 11 million Swedish kronor ($1 million) drawn from a bequest left by the prize’s creator, Swedish inventor Alfred Nobel, who died in 1896. The prize cash was raised by 1 million kronor this 12 months as a result of of the plunging worth of the Swedish foreign money.

The laureates are invited to obtain their awards at ceremonies on December 10, the anniversary of Nobel’s loss of life. The prestigious peace prize is handed out in Oslo, in accordance to his needs, whereas the opposite award ceremony is held in Stockholm.
