Non-gazatted railways workers to get a productiveness bonus of 78 days
Ahead of Diwali, the union cupboard has permitted a productiveness-linked bonus for non-gazetted workers. Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur stated: “Union Cabinet approves 78 days worth of productivity-linked bonus for non-gazetted railway staff. This will cost Rs 1,969 crore.”
This will profit round 13 lakh workers of the Railway.
The Railways pay PLB, which is equal to 78 days’ wages, to all non-gazetted workers (Group C and Group D) as an incentive to extend productiveness and guarantee security.
The PLB is calculated on the premise of the minimal wage paid to the bottom grade (Group D) workers.
Meanwhile, the Indian Railway Employees Federation (IREF) has written to the railways demanding an enhancement within the productiveness-linked bonus (PLB) that the employees get yearly forward of the festive season.
The IREF has argued that although the railways applied the suggestions of the seventh Pay Commission on January 1, 2016, but the PLB has nonetheless been calculated and paid based mostly on the minimal wage fastened by the sixth Pay Commission.
According to the Federation, all workers of Group C and Group D get solely Rs 17,951 which is calculated on the premise of Rs 7000 because the minimal month-to-month wage.
They have demanded that it needs to be raised to Rs 46,159 contemplating the minimal wage below the suggestions of the seventh Pay Commission.
Last 12 months in October, whereas saying the PLB, the Ministry of Railways had stated that 11.27 lakh non-gazetted Railway workers have been more likely to profit from the bonus.
