Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Thursday stated Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh was transferred after a few of his colleagues’ dedicated “serious and unforgivable mistakes”. The Home Minister expressed that “this is not an administrative transfer”.

“Some of the colleagues of the (former) Mumbai police chief (Singh) committed some serious mistakes. Those are unforgivable mistakes. Hence, he was transferred. Further action will be taken based on the probe report,” he added.

The Home Minister additional stated the Maharashtra ATS and the NIA are “professionally”, conducting the probe into the incident, including motion might be taken towards whoever is discovered responsible within the respective probes.

“The NIA and ATS are conducting the probe professionally. They will definitely find out whoever is guilty,” he stated whereas responding to the allegations levelled by the BJP and MNS.
