Like its title suggests, the ‘Thin House’ seems extraordinarily slender, as if out of the Harry Potter universe or Alice In Wonderland. It stands between South Kensington tube station and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Its handle is “5 Thurloe Square, South Kensington”. Thurloe Square was in-built 1840-1846 and was named after the landowning Thurloe household. The sq. had many homes, which have been demolished by the Metropolitan District Railway in 1867 to make London’s subway stations.
However, the railways left a strip of triangle land unrazed. On this land, a portion of the constructing remained intact. As per, My London, this surviving portion of the constructing turned the ‘Thin House’.

However, as the world turned fashionable after its proximity to the railway station, a neighborhood builder William Douglas transformed the constructing into an artist studio. The constructing’s north-facing home windows let in loads of daylight for the artists to work in.

Over the years, its distinctive form has attracted a bunch of holiday makers and worldwide vacationers who stand outdoors the constructing and take its photos. The Google map has marked ‘Thin House’ as a vacationer attraction in London.
This just isn’t the one property that has fetched a big value due to its uncommon form.
