Acting in opposition to human trafficking racket, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday detained a Rohingya Muslim from Myanmar throughout its raids at a number of places in Jammu and Kashmir’s Jammu and Samba districts, an official stated.
The raids have been restricted to slums housing Myanmar immigrants and have been carried out in reference to a case associated to violation of the Passports Act and human trafficking, the official stated. Zaffar Alam was taken into custody from his non permanent residence within the Bathindi space of Jammu round 2 am, whereas one other accused is on the run, the official stated.
The probing company additionally carried out raids across 10 states together with Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telengana, Haryana, Puducherry , Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir in connection to human trafficking instances.
