The new swimming pool in Yemmekere in Mangaluru can be inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on November 24, 2023.

Nearly 800 swimmers from throughout India are possible to take part in the nineteenth National Masters Swimming Championship to be held between November 24 and 26 on the Yemmekere worldwide swimming pool in Mangaluru.
The pool was constructed at a value of ₹24.94 crore by Mangaluru Smart City Limited below Mangaluru Smart City Mission. It can be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on November 24.
Talking to reporters in Mangaluru on November 13, Okay. Tejomaya, working president of the championship organising committee, stated that just about 700 swimmers have registered for the championship to this point. “The last date for registration has been extended to November 15. We are expecting nearly 800 swimmers to take part,” Mr. Tejomaya stated. There can be round 150 referees and volunteers.
The competitors can be held in the 10-lane 50m X 25m pool the place the depth varies from 2.2 metres to 1.4 metres. There can be a five-lane follow pool of 25m X 10m with depth of two.2 metres. There can be a youngsters’ pool of 13.8m X 10m with depth of 1.2 metres. All the three swimming pools are on the second ground of the swimming pool complicated.
The mezzanine ground homes dormitories for female and male opponents, a gymnasium, altering rooms, bathrooms, lockers, administration workplace, referee rooms, and area for dope-testing, sports activities drugs and physiotherapy. There is parking area in the basement. The new complicated has come up on three acres of Yemmekere floor.
Mangaluru MLA and Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader, who’s the honorary president of the championship organising committee, stated, “With the new swimming pool, the long-felt need for an international level swimming pool for the talent of the region has been realised.”
After inaugurating the brand new swimming pool, Chief Minister will lay the inspiration for improvement of two acres outdoors the swimming pool complicated to play cricket and different out of doors sports activities.
“The government has promised to develop the open space outside the pool complex. We will discuss with residents, and develop the open space as per their requirements,” Mr. Khader stated.
On upkeep of the pool, Mr. Khader stated the contractor, who has constructed the complicated, will preserve it for 2 years. “The way to manage the pool complex will be worked out after the end of national swimming event,” he stated.
